The Team
ANDRÉS PALMA
Director & producer
Originally trained as a classical artist, Andrés has been working in the Mexican film, animation and visual effects industries for nearly two decades, from independent film productions down to advertising work for large established agencies.
Shimmer is his most personal project to date, conceived to work through his own issues around the idea of fatherhood and the choices that come with it. He worked in many roles as the project took shape: writer, director, producer, editor, production designer, CG supervisor, character modeler, texturer and lighting artist.

The Students
Shimmer would not exist without the help of scores of students from Escena Animation School. The project was conceived first and foremost as an educational tool, providing teachers with the means to keep honing their skills and providing students with an alternative training path where they could put in practice the knowledge gained in the classroom within a production environment. As such, they were not only part of the journey, but its very reason for being.
